A Taste of Nature -

With the opening our new five-acre campus in Avon in August 2011, Walking Mountains has made the decision to hold one major fundraising event each year during the summer months in order to utilize and showcase the beautiful grounds and facilities of the Science Center.  Summer 2013 will introduce our attendees, donors and corporate partners to A Taste of Nature, an innovative food and wine happening that will feature cuisine and wine pairings with food prepared especially for the occasion by premier chefs from some of Vail Resorts’ finest restaurants.

 

A Taste of Nature celebrates the goodness of life, the joy of friendship and the bounty that comes from the land around us while also raising vital support for educational programs that benefit the children, adults and families of our community. Proceeds from A Taste of Nature will be used to enhance and expand Walking Mountains’ programming so that even more people can participate and benefit from our unique, hands-on science education in the future

The Founders Stewardship Award, sponsored by Alpine Bank, will be  presented again this year to an individual who has shown dedication to enhancing environmental awareness and stewardship within our community.  Past recipients of the Founders Stewardship Award have included Adam Palmer, educator Luke Cartin, Ted James, environmentalist Carolyn Bradford, high school student Holly Domke, and middle school student Tucker Cocchiarella.
