A bequest is the simplest and most popular type of planned gift. At no cost to you during your lifetime it allows you to create a legacy while sharing your values with your children or heirs. No matter the size of your estate, including your favorite charities is easy. This is a revocable decision so you are able to change beneficiaries if you choose. You can also leave a percentage of your estate, a fixed dollar amount or a residual amount after other obligations have been taken care of. Bequests are also fully deductible for federal and state estate tax purposes.
Gift of Retirement Plan
With this instrument, you simply name Walking Mountains Science Center as the benenficiary of your IRA at your passing. This is a revocable gift so you can always change this designation. It also allows you to avoid the double taxation that occurs if you were to leave your IRA to heirs. In addition you may continue to take regular distributions for your lifetime.
Gift of Life Insurance
Receive an immediate, sometimes significant, deduction when you name Walking Mountains Science Center the owner and beneficiary of a paid up life insurance policy. This is especially attractive if you hold surplus life insurance policies.
