Daytime Snowshoe Tours

Travel by snowshoes on an educational tour through the forests atop of Vail Mountain. Learn about winter ecology and animal adaptations as you gaze at majestic mountain views. Please come prepared to spend an hour outside in the winter environment with snow pants, warm hats, gloves and sturdy boots. Snowshoes are provided. Ages 10 and up, FREE. Call 970.754.4675 for more information. No reservation required, just show up! All visitors must have a valid ski pass or Vail Scenic Ride Ticket ($36/adult) in order to ride the gondola before 3:30pm daily.

Location: Nature Discovery Center (Click here for driving directions) | The Nature Discovery Center is closed for the season and will re-open in mid June, 2016 to run daily Nature Walks. Snowshoe tours will start back up in December 2016.

Evening Snowshoe Tours

Journey into the night under the changing skies. Travel by snowshoe as you learn about the baits of nocturnal animals and other mountain characters while you experience the distinct calm of the evening forest. Please come prepared to spend an hour outside in the winter environment with snow pants, warm hats, gloves and sturdy boots. Program is conducted in darkness or low light for most of the winter season. Snowshoes are provided. Participants sign up at the Nature Discovery Center. Ages 10 and up, FREE. Call 970.754.4675 for more information.
