One Book One Valley – STEM Family Event
Does your child like to build and design things? In partnership with One Book One Valley, Walking Mountains has a CHALLENGE for you – if you choose to accept it!
Please join us for a family- fun, STEM-filled Saturday! You and your child will BUILD your own seed dispersal mechanism together – how far and wide can it spread seeds to plant?! This event will challenge you and your child to put your heads together and use critical thinking, engineering creativity, and hands-on construction skills.
This program requires pre-registration and is limited to up to 8 families per session (morning activity at 10 a.m. or afternoon activity at 2 p.m.). Both sessions are the same activity, and we invite families who participated last month and new friends to join us. The activity is designed to challenge the minds of 4th-8th graders and bring out the curious child in you!
10am – 12pm: Avon Tang Campus, Walking Mountains
2pm-4pm: Eagle Valley Middle School
Limited up to 16 people (8 families; 1 family = 1 parent, 1 child) per session
