In this workshop Nina Waysdorf, Walking Mountains’ very own Sustainability Programs Coordinator for Zero Waste who has been studying waste in the Eagle Valley for nearly 3 years, will introduce the basic concepts of zero waste, followed by some of the strategies hotels and other event venues can consider when planning and purchasing for large events. After managing staff & volunteers, infrastructure & equipment, as well as communication with vendors for more than 70 events throughout the Eagle Valley over just six months in 2019, resulting in a cumulative waste diversion of more than 25,000 pounds, our Zero Waste Coordinator will also share best practices she feels are most important to properly executing a venue or hotel’s waste diversion goals.
