Solar Rollers

Walking Mountains Science Center partnered with the Carbondale, Colorado non-profit, Solar Rollers to provide high school STEM programming.  We are happy to extend our STEM pathway by giving continuing opportunities to participants in STEM Curiosity Lab!

Walking Mountains Solar Rollers team participants learn about renewable energies and the engineering process through the creation of a remote controlled solar car students fashion from raw materials.  Students work collaboratively to build the complex car through weekly meetings. In May the team competes against other high school teams in Denver. The students showcase their knowledge through judging panel and also race the car to exhibit their innovative designs.

The 2019/2020 Walking Mountains Solar Roller Team sponsored by Active Energies is FULL.
