Emma hails most recently from the rainy (but oh, so green) city of Portland, Oregon, but is a northern Californian at heart. Her childhood at the convergence of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and Lake Tahoe shaped her love of the mountains, the snow, and nature in general. She now brings that love to Eagle County as she works to secure funding for our programs.
Emma is an environmentalist who seeks to live a low-impact life on the environment and a high-impact life in getting communities the resources they need to thrive. Working as the Grants Associate,Emma brings a background of film and non-profit start-up experience. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Environmental Science, and after experiencing life in Spain moved on over to the Rocky Mountains. Her true passion is writing, which steers her in the direction of environmental policy and makes her a top notch grant-writer. When she isn’t researching new funding sources or coordinating site visits, Emma spends her time reading up on the likes of William Cronon, backcountry skiing, trail running, or dreaming of owning a dog.
