Fernanda was born in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in nearby Denver, Colorado. She discovered a passion for animals and the outdoors in the 3rd grade when she found The Chimps I love by Jane Goodall, who to this day remains Fernanda’s idol. In pursuit of more knowledge regarding conservation, she completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Anthropology from MSU Denver in 2016. After trying a career in the healthcare field, Fernanda realized she missed the outdoors and had strayed from her passion of caring for the environment and is now seeking to reunite with the wilderness through her time as a Naturalist here at Walking Mountains.
Fernanda’s favorite animals are the Great Apes and she hopes to someday work with an amazing international non-profit organization that advocates for and rehabilitates primates. She currently likes to spend her time reading, learning something new every day, and exploring her new home through hiking, jogging, and through her new interest of rock climbing.
