Iva grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming and has always had a great love for spending time outdoors. She is currently attending school in Bellingham at Western Washington University, where she is studying Environmental Science as well as Recreation Management and Leadership. She has been very involved with Western’s Outdoor Center through her time at WWU, and has held positions as a Trip Leader, Challenge Course Facilitator, and Coordinator for the Challenge Program. She has also worked as an outdoor guide for Gateway Mountain Center in California, where she was able to take kids on outdoor adventures and teach about the natural history of the area. Through getting to work with many different populations, Iva has determined that she loves being in an environment where she can help others appreciate and connect with nature. She is constantly amazed with the world around her and is all about sharing that stoke with anyone nearby. She is a firm believer that there are few things better than a homecooked meal or taking a good nap in the grass on a sunny day. In her free time, you can most likely find Iva skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or climbing.
