Jill Peiffer is always on a journey to explore, learn and try new things. She grew up in Wisconsin with a love for animals and nature, but didn’t realize a passion for hiking and camping until two summers in college when she visited Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone National Parks. After completing a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution and Animal Behavior at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, she worked throughout the US and abroad as a wildlife conservation field-biologist.
Jill also spent a couple years doing small-scale organic farming, and found joy in working in the soil and taking care of goats. As a volunteer educator at Riveredge Nature Center in Wisconsin, Jill realized that she enjoyed teaching. While earning her Master’s in Wildlife Ecology, she was glad to teach undergraduate biology laboratory and high school biology. Her positive experiences with teaching and desire to be more connected with a community led her to pursue education positions. Jill is happy to build a bridge between the scientific world and the young student world. She is encouraged by youth who are excited to learn.
