Anna Boeck

Girls in Science Instructor

Anna was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where her love and curiosity for nature was well nurtured.  She grew up adventuring at the family ranch and in the greenbelt that was adjacent to her childhood home.  She went on to earn a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Biology, with her thesis in ecological botany.  She taught multiple undergraduate science classes at the University of Texas at San Antonio, but it was time for a change and the mountains of Colorado were calling.  She moved to Estes Park and worked at the YMCA until a wonderful teaching opportunity at the Denver School of Science and Technology was available where she taught high school Physics.  To be closer to the mountains, she moved to Summit County and became a mountain guide.  She lives with her partner, two dogs, and one cat in a lovely home with an extensive outdoor garden and greenhouse.  She enjoys mountain biking, wildflower hikes, mountaineering, rock climbing, splitboarding, and gardening.
