Cassidy Hammecker

Sustainability Intern

Cassidy is a recent graduate of Siena College with a B.A. in psychology and environmental studies. There she was a founder of Siena’s Wastewater Surveillance Program to combat the spread of Covid-19 on campus and participated in the national Snapshot USA study. Noticing how her courses overlapped at Siena College, Cassidy discovered a passion for studying how people interact with the environment, specifically ways to improve how they treat the environment.

Cassidy is looking forward to gaining more experience in promoting sustainability at Walking Mountains. Cassidy dreams of developing a community center focused on nature-based counseling and wilderness therapy, and is looking forward to learning more about sustainable business to apply to her career. Cassidy spends her free time outside kayaking, skiing, biking, and reading. Most of all, she enjoys throwing a rugby ball around with her friends on the pitch! Being that she is from New York, Cassidy is excited to explore a new area and is looking forward to learning more about Colorado and its climate change actions!
