Courtney Rajt

Sustainability Intern

Courtney grew up just outside of Detroit, spending weekends on the shores of the many lakes Michigan has to offer. She moved to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to earn her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies & Sustainability from Northern Michigan University. During her time in the U.P., she discovered her love of hiking, camping, and rock climbing. Courtney joined the Students For Sustainability club, which oversaw the student-run permaculture garden, organized Earth Week events, and hosted workshops and speakers. Recently, Courtney has been working with Detroit’s first rock climbing gym whose mission it is to make rock climbing as inclusive and accessible as possible for the surrounding community.

Courtney is excited to spend her summer exploring the alpine lakes and rivers, finding campsites, and climbing in her free time.
