Helen Thompson

Foley Graduate Fellow

Helen is originally from Minnesota where she grew up going to the lake and exploring in the woods. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a degree in Environmental Studies and Geography, while there she was able to become a teaching assistant, which sparked her interest in education. Since then she has been able to explore teaching in various capacities including nature programming at camps, team building, place-based education in Wyoming, high ropes courses and being a teaching assistant abroad.

Recently, Helen has been a summer educator with Walking Mountains and a ski instructor in the valley. Outside of teaching she really enjoys road biking, skiing, reading, cooking and board games.
