DESCRIPTION:A free nature walk is a perfect introduction to Colorado’s natural world. Join a Naturalist for a free\, gentle educational hike through aspen and riparian communities at our Avon Tang Campus location. Learn about the ecology and animal adaptations of this mountain environment! \n\nFamily-friendly and suitable for most physical abilities.\nPlease come prepared to spend an hour outside in variable weather. Sun protection and sturdy shoes are required.\nPlease call (970) 827-9725 if your plans change so that we may accommodate other visitors.\n\nThe winter nature walk is about 1/3 mile of walking over the course of 1 hour\, with periods of standing at several stops. The dirt trail is mostly flat but has some small hills. Mud may be encountered on the trail. From creative crafts and immersive environments to engaging demonstrations\, attendees can experiment\, build\, and play while discovering the wonders of science in a festive setting. \nDesigned as a community celebration\, Fright at the Museum offers a wide variety of hands-on stations and experiences suitable for all ages. Guests are encouraged to come in costume\, participate in interactive exhibits\, and enjoy a lively\, educational Halloween atmosphere. \nIn addition to the festivities\, the event reflects Walking Mountains’ commitment to sustainability. Efforts are made to reduce environmental impact through responsible materials use\, waste reduction\, and encouraging eco-friendly transportation options such as walking\, biking\, or carpooling. \nFright at the Museum is both a celebration and a fundraiser\, supporting Walking Mountains’ mission to inspire environmental stewardship and curiosity through natural science education.
