Christmas Bird Count

The Christmas Bird Count is the longest-running community science project in the world. Walking Mountains helps support the effort by bringing volunteers together to conduct bird surveys across western Eagle County.

On Saturday, December 19, volunteers and Walking Mountains staff will meet in Eagle, Colorado (exact location TBD). From there, we will split into groups and carpool to different locations to survey and tally every bird that we see.

*Please note: Most areas can be surveyed by vehicle, but some sections may require some light hiking or walking around. When you register, please let us know if you have any special requests or needs that we can accommodate. You may also participate through stationary feeder-watching from home.
