Climate Action

The Climate Action Collaborative for the Eagle County Community is comprised of more than 30 local businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and governments. Collectively we are working to implement the recommendations put forth in the Climate Action Plan to reduce Eagle County carbon emissions 25% by 2025 and 80% by 2050.

Walking Mountains Sustainability Energy Efficiency programs allows you or your business to take control of energy decisions.Talk to energy specialists about how to lower your energy costs and become more sustainable.

Recycling & Waste Diversion

Walking Mountains Center provides education and outreach to community members and guests of Eagle Valley. Join our staff on a tour of the local recycling or compost facilities, search the Waste Wizard, request zero waste services at your event, or just find resources on how to make your world waste-free.

Sustainable Business Training Program

Actively Green is a sustainability training and certification program for all businesses, including the tourism industry. Actively Green provides a framework of sustainable business criteria and performance indicators that support any business in elevating performance with the use of best management practices specific to sustainability principles.

Sustainable Destination Certification

Walking Mountains Science Center supports mountain resort communities in becoming globally recognized certified sustainable destinations.The Mountain IDEAL recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) as a sustainability standard and certification program for mountain resort communities.

Climate Action Week

Climate Action Week is an extended week of events to inspire climate action and highlight local climate action partners! Throughout the week, events will be held that encourage increased awareness and action on community-based climate solutions in Eagle County. This years Climate Action Week will be from April 17th-26!
