Fright at the Museum Social Narrative

Welcome to Fright at the Museum! We hope you will join us at this annual event.

Fright at the Museum brings the science of the season to life with hands-on fun for the whole family. Take a look here and see what to expect.

This guide uses clear photos and simple descriptions to help you understand what to expect before, during, and after your visit!

Parking

You will be parking at the Elk Lot at the base of Beaver Creek. Drive in and head to the left. On the furthest east side, there are handicap parking spaces. The Shuttles will pick you up right there to bring you to campus!

Arriving

When you get up to campus, you will be greeted by members of the staff. They will all be dressed up in a costume that matches the theme. Staff members will be wearing white name tags.

When you get inside, you will see our museum looks different than normal! We put up decorations to make it special for Halloween.

Event

There will be lots of people on campus and most people will be wearing Halloween costumes! You can wear any costume you want.

As you walk our trails and around our buildings, you will find many stations with games and activities at each stop. We change the stations every year to match the theme,and there is something fun for everyone! You will get a map when you arrive that has all the names of the stations and where they are located so you can choose where you want to go.

One of the stations we always have is our ‘spooky forest’. We call it a spooky forest because we decorate it to match the theme. If you go on the forest loop walk, you can expect to come across several obstacles while you make your way through.

On the paved area, we have activities and food options! The activities rotate based on the theme.

This event can be pretty loud and crowded, but we will always have a sensory-safe space for breaks during the event. Check the map and see where it is located!
