Walking Mountains’ 7th-10th grade summer camps are about personal development, leadership, problem solving, and of course making meaningful friendships while enjoying the outdoors! All Summer Science Camps are age-appropriate and taught by qualified natural science educators that make learning safe and fun.
All overnight camps are based out of one of the historic 10th Mountain Division hut system.
Avon: July 10 – July 12 (Shrine – Walter’s) $375
Explore the trails on this hut trip for middle schoolers! We will learn how ecology and smart trail-building strengthen one another. Then, we will apply engineering principles to a restoration project on the Walking Mountains Avon campus!
Avon: July 17 – July 19 (Peter Estin) $375
Have you ever wondered what it would take to be a world changer? Meet other like-minded youth as you push yourself to go the extra mile and learn what it takes to be a leader. Develop leadership skills in the wilderness and test your mettle in a final wilderness challenge.
Avon: July 24- July 26 (Polar Star Inn) $375
Challenge yourself to dream big! This hut trip is all about imagination, collaboration, and learning more about the unique skills and perspectives you bring to the problem-solving table. During this trip, you’ll choose a sustainability issue you care about, dream up a community free from that issue, and make a plan of action to tackle the issue head on. Envisioning a brighter future is the first step in making it a reality!
