Amelia Kovacs

Sustainability Programs Coordinator

Amelia (she/her) was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Amelia received a B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology with a minor in Sustainability and a certificate in Sustainable Food Systems at Arizona State University. Before Walking Mountains and during her time at ASU, Amelia led a residential compost program, drafted a climate action plan alongside a city councilwoman in Phoenix, AZ, and represented her university at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 25) in Madrid, Spain. Amelia’s goal at Walking Mountains is to bring the “fun” to her sustainability outreach/education and to meet people where they’re at to introduce sustainable changes.

When Amelia isn’t at work, Amelia loves playing soccer, enjoying live music, skiing, and dabbling with photography/videography. She may also be a local trivia champion and sort your trash/recycling bin when you’re not paying attention…
