Energy In Nature
ENERGY IN NATURE ART EXHIBITION
PHOTOGRAPHY BY TODD WINSLOW PIERCE
SCULPTURE BY PATRICK MAROLD
Energy drives our modern lives from illumination to transportation. Energy is also a timeless building block of the natural world. These works inspire reflection beyond the clean energies – solar, wind, hydro – that power our devices to the myriad ways that energy flows in nature. It is fast and slow, hot and cold, wet and dry; it is all around us.
TODD WINSLOW PIERCE is an Eagle County native and a professional landscape photographer, conservationist, author, and producer. He is the founder of Eagle Valley Wild, a nonprofit providing photography services for conservation projects and his work is featured in art books including the award-winning Living Beneath the Colorado Peaks: The Story of Knapp Ranch and the new On the Roof of the Rocky Mountains: The Botanical Legacy of Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. He is a member of 1% for the Planet and Nature First: The Alliance for Responsible Nature Photography.
PATRICK MAROLD is an internationally commissioned artist who has been working to bind the physical environment with our perceived orientation for over two decades. His work explores the intersection between natural phenomena, energy, and perception and can be seen at Denver International Airport, Dallas Love Field International Airport, and the National Music Center in Calgary AB. He received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and was later awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to explore spacial dynamics and renewable energy in Iceland. He maintains a studio in Nederland, CO, where he creates art exploring the relationship between humans and nature.
