Allie Menendez
Alli (she/her) is originally from Western New York, where she developed a deep love for the outdoors through hiking and playing outside. She earned a degree in Biology and Geography from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2021. After graduation, Alli worked with an invasive plant crew in Northern New York and gained hands-on experience in prescribed fire and forestry as a Student Conservation Association intern at the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge in Georgia. It was during her time at the Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center in
Georgia, that Alli discovered her passion for Environmental Education, taking students on adventures and helping them develop an appreciation for nature. She expanded her environmental education experience during over two years at the Dunes Learning Center in Northwest Indiana as an outreach education fellow, where she taught students about nature in their own communities and the diverse ecosystems of the Indiana Dunes. Her favorite outdoor places are beaches and waterfalls. She is very excited to learn more about nature at Walking Mountains with some amazing students!
