Allison Burgund

As Communications Manager at Walking Mountains, I bring a lifelong passion for protecting people and the planet, rooted in a Communications degree and early experiences as a college outdoor guide. I taught bouldering, rock climbing, spelunking, canoeing, and led hiking trips to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, canoe adventures up the Black Canyon, and backcountry ski trips to Tuolomne Meadows. My career pivoted while designing 13 National Park websites—an “aha” moment that led me to launch a sustainable retail store with the mission to reduce single-use plastic containers. With a family legacy at the EPA, Greenpeace, and public defense, I now champion sustainability with Walking Mountains by connecting communities to sustainability and science. I can be found outside every day, hiking, or on the river. I am a proud parent to two wonderful girls, who keep life full of laughter, learning, and adventure.
