Over Its First 25 Years

  • Our Avon Tang Campus which includes a visitor center, indoor and outdoor classrooms and community gathering spaces, a sustainability center, staff office space, Foley Graduate Fellow residences and access to U.S. Forest Service land
  • Our Precourt Family Sweetwater Campus, which provides expanded accessibility in western Eagle County to unique ecosystems and learning environments
  • Managing operations of the Nature Discovery Center on Vail Mountain and the Vail Nature Center along Gore Creek in Ford Park, providing unique educational programs for children and adults
  • Significant expansion of no-cost/low-cost Youth and Community Programs
  • Robust Sustainability Programs at the residential, corporate and municipal level
  • Initiation and leadership of Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement (EVOM) to better serve our diverse community with access to the outdoors in a bilingual, family-oriented setting
  • Establishing the Foley Graduate Fellowship Program which provides a unique opportunity for educators to earn a M.A. in Science Education at no cost, while teaching summer science camps and school field science programs and living in residences at our Avon Tang Campus
  • Creating the Peternell Fund for Professional Staff Development, to enable staff to continue to evolve in innovative ways to support the Walking Mountains mission
