Katie Wareham

Naturalist

Katie (she/her) grew up in Maryland where her passion for the outdoors was fueled through exploration of the Appalachian Mountains and Chesapeake Bay. Katie studied Environmental Studies and Outdoor Education and Leadership at Salisbury University. She spent a summer semester abroad in Trinidad and Tobago, learning about conservation and assisting with leatherback sea turtle hatchlings, which are one of her favorite animals!

After graduation, Katie discovered her love of teaching others about the natural world through her experience as an Environmental Educator in the Finger Lakes region of New York. She then spent a winter with the National Park Service in Utah, learning and teaching others about dinosaur fossils at Dinosaur National Monument. She is excited to join Walking Mountains this summer, and is looking forward to learning about Rocky Mountain ecology and connecting others to nature.

If you don’t see her on a trail or on the water, Katie is probably playing a sport, riding a motorcycle, or practicing yoga.
