Lydia grew up exploring the backroads and trails of rural southeastern Idaho, where she developed a strong sense of connection with the landscape. After graduating with a degree in Biology from Middlebury College, she followed her heart out west to work on sage-grouse research in Nevada. There she discovered a love of community outreach and engagement. She found her true passion while serving with AmeriCorps as an environmental educator at the Galena Creek Visitor Center, calling on her experience in the research world to engage students and show them that science is fun!
Lydia enjoys hiking with her dog, playing music, and tending to her numerous houseplants. But most of all, she loves using education in natural settings to inspire stewardship among young people from all walks of life.
