Ingrid is a graduate of the University of Michigan where she studied Sustainable Development through the School of Environment and Sustainability (SEAS), and minored in writing. During her time at U of M Ingrid participated in EcoQuest, an environmental and ecological program on the North Island of New Zealand where she worked with and learned from the indigenous people of New Zealand. Throughout her time at U of M, Ingrid was on the Nordic Race Team, and during her last year her teammates and her raced full and half marathons in -15 degree temperatures. Born a Yooper in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Ingrid credits her Northern upbringing for sparking her passion for the environment and sustainability. Before graduating, Ingrid took a gap semester to travel to Scandinavia where she worked for a non-profit in Norway called “In the Same Boat”. With In the Same Boat Ingrid sailed and collected marine litter with a crew of 5 and and a captain named Rolf. Ingrid is looking forward to getting involved in the Eagle County community and meeting community members through Zero Waste events. She can’t wait to get outside (once the snow melts a little more) to hike, trail run, and hammock. Other than the great outdoors, Ingrid is passionate about music and loves to play guitar, flute, sing and discover new artists/bands.
