Scott was born and raised in northeast Ohio where he developed his love for the natural world playing and learning in the woods and waters of the Great Lakes. Scott fell in love with the Rocky Mountains while studying in Montana and after graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Science from Cleveland State University, knew that his career would have to be based around the outdoors. After working as a bicycle mechanic, campground manager and zip line instructor, Scott eventually found that environmental education was the path he wanted his professional life to follow.
Before joining the Walking Mountains team, Scott worked for several years as an educational interpreter for the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo helping to secure a future for wildlife. Scott is excited to return to the west as a naturalist with Walking Mountains and is looking forward to sharing the wonders of the Rocky Mountains with others. He hopes to educate and inspire others to see the natural world as something worth protecting and enjoying. When not at work, you will likely find Scott outside riding his bicycle, hiking, camping or just enjoying some fresh air and maybe an ice cream cone.
